Skip Arnold, great friend and collaborator, is a notorious unclothed artist, in most of his work. Skip has given the same two sweaters to work on for long stints of teaching/art making travels to France and back, in exchange for his work. It never ceases to amaze how ravaged the sweaters/scarves become while he's away. He destroys them with constant wear/tear, then gives them back for repair. They become like the story of the Velveteen rabbit, the more ravaged, the more repaired = the more loved. We are now on the third pass in 2009.

Bettina re-creates garments, focusing on the client's character through a dialogue and consideration of their personality in order to further the connection between garment and client. It is a portrait of sorts, coming up with some reflection of the person in the piece.

...So give her something that means something to you, or something that means nothing to you, but tell her what does.
