Hosted by Daniel Hug Gallery, 410 Bernard St. Los Angeles, CA 90012. March 1, 2007

Bettina invited clients, artists and friends to the gallery to have their portraits taken inside a tight corner backdrop inspired by Irving Penn. Each person either wore Hubby pieces they'd commissioned or bought, but more than the clothes, the images became a lasting celebration of this community and its personality.

Also featured were 20 of Bettina's friends wearing pieces from her inventory on a large square red carpet. Instead of a runway show, each woman brought their favorite chair from home, and sat modeling the clothes, drinking wine and talking to each other. Each friend was given a camera to document each other during the evening. The result was a refreshing slew of casual images of the clothing and the girls getting to know each other, separated from the rest of the crowd by the edge of the red carpet.

Portraits taken by Josh White
Music by Mr. Banjo, Tif Sigfrids and Mari Eastman.
Food was designed and orchestrated by Jiva MacKay.
