Reflective of her personal outlook, Bettina’s playfulness with subject and material brings a unique character to every garment she creates. Unconstrained by boundaries of convention, Bettina incorporates unexpected craft elements from abandoned quilting blocks to found macramé and embroidery into much of her work. More traditional notions, beads, buttons and belts, are utilized, but in surprising and challenging ways. The skin of the wearer is often revealed through the designs to draw attention to the often overlooked.

Not a traditional shopping experience, Bettina’s clothes find their way to their owners much as a painting might be added to a collection. Whether the client commissions a garment to be reinvented, or makes an appointment at the studio to browse and select from original items already on display, buying a Hubby piece is a highly personalized experience.
