inWORDout - Shifting the narrative for GOOD!

Self-talk is a tool in your life creating toolkit. Bringing awareness to self-critique, rumination, and the words one chooses to voice, helps to form a gap between thoughts, an empowering opportunity for a shift, and shift happens! Every word carries an energetic imprint, whether spoken, written, thought about, or read, and have the power to affect us in beneficial or harmful ways; they are often used unconsciously without consideration of their consequence. inWORDout’s intention is to offer GOODS and experiences that love up the body and mind. Look at is as an self-directed advertising campaign for your own consciousness!

Hubby's ongoing text-based project InWord features paintings, limited edition t- shirts, screen prints, and community-based workshops. The project launched with paintings and photographs featuring neon verbiage on view as part of Positively Earnest, Hubby’s solo exhibition at Klowden Mann in Los Angeles, February 16–March 23, 2019. The exhibition centered around Hubby’s longstanding interest in the power that language has to shape our reality.

The hand rendered text paintings became the foundation for a limited edition t-shirt screen printed in Los Angeles by DTLA Print, each one unique. The words appear to others as backwards when wearing the t-shirt, but the wearer’s body ‘reads’ the words correctly. The words reflect back when looking into a mirror. The item of clothing becomes a subconscious messaging system and talisman of protection for the wearer.

The InWord screen print is a limited edition poster (22, with 3 APs), featuring neon ink on heavy black rag paper, printed by Press Friends Machine.
