✨ Blue Chip Earth — Series Overview

2017–present

Blue Chip Earth is a sculptural series that offers an adjustment to the art world’s value system—in the most generous way possible. Through self-portrait figurines holding oversized checks made out to the planet, Bettina Hubby invites collectors to quite literally put their money where their values are.

Each artwork is both a collectible and a catalyst: the more a collector donates above production costs, the more the Earth benefits. Proceeds support a vetted range of charitable organizations focused on the environment, reforestation, hunger relief, animal welfare, mental health, and more. It’s a new form of art-as-tithing—equal parts sculptural satire and sincere stewardship.

Figurines are printed in high-resolution resin polymer with archival CMYK ink and can be sold as-is or housed in custom mirrored plexiglass display boxes fabricated by Art Services Melrose.

In Blue Chip Earth, Hubby—wearing her money pants and a heart held-Earth tee—holds up a giant blank check made out to “Blue Chip Earth.” The memo reads: Replenishment. The date? ASAP.

It’s a literal—and heartfelt—invitation to shift our focus toward the natural world.

This sculpture is a quiet but insistent call to action, reminding us that nurturing nature is not optional; it’s our original and ongoing relationship.

As with all works in the Blue Chip Earth series, the lion’s share of each purchase is donated to vetted charitable organizations. For Nature Nurture, proceeds benefit TreePeople, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit empowering communities to take direct action in restoring the urban environment. 🌳✨

In Power Pose, Bettina Hubby channels a micro-moment of transformation. Arms raised in a victorious V, barefoot and grounded, this sculptural self-portrait embodies the idea that even subtle shifts—of posture, of language, of intention—can spark real psychological change.

Inspired by body language studies and positive neuroplasticity, this piece is a visual nudge: how we hold ourselves can help shape how we see ourselves. It’s equal parts affirmation, activation, and self-directed encouragement.

Connected to Hubby’s Positively Earnest project and available through her family-run site INWORDOUT, this work carries the ethos of conscious communication—from the words we wear to the way we stand in the world.

As with all Blue Chip Earth sculptures, the lion’s share of proceeds is donated to vetted charities. For Power Pose, funds support organizations dedicated to emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

🐐 Baby Goat

Baby Goat is both balm and mirror. In this small but potent figurine, Bettina Hubby holds a baby goat with quiet reverence—a gesture of tenderness that transcends the surface and aims straight for the nervous system.

We scroll through baby animal videos for comfort. We know they calm us. But in real life, our cultural connection to animals—and to nature—has been fractured. This sculpture is a pause-and-remember moment: a return to our innate wiring, our deep mammalian truth.

To see yourself in an animal is to reclaim your kinship with all life. This piece asks us to slow down, to hold, to feel—and to let that feeling ripple outward into action, care, and connection. Our course correction is happenig now!

🍽️ The Sexual Bronze Hubby

In this self-portrait, Bettina Hubby channels joy, appetite, and art history all at once. The Sexual Bronze Hubby offers up a tray of sculptural pairings from her Sexual Bronze Show—a series known for its surreal, sensual unions between everyday objects, sparking laughter, curiosity, and conversation about intimacy, preferences, nourishment, and connection.

This figurine nods to Paul Gauguin’s Two Tahitian Women, with its symbolic fruit and implicit offerings—but this time, the offering is playful, feminist, and firmly on its own terms.

More than a cheeky gesture, this piece invites reflection on how we nourish ourselves—not just with food, but with thoughts, relationships, and input of all kinds. Because what we consume becomes who we are. Body, mind, and spirit.

The Sexual Bronze Hubby is a self portrait of Hubby holding a tray of a few of her sculptural pairings from THE SEXUAL BRONZE SHOW series. The composition of the figurine is a nod to Paul Gauguin's painting of a woman holding a tray of luscious fruit: Two Tahitian Women.  The charitable beneficiaries support ending hunger and poverty.

🎀 Forever BOOBS

This figurine is a love letter to levity in the face of adversity. Forever BOOBS was the first in the Blue Chip Earth series and sprang directly from Hubby’s project Thanks for the Mammaries—a deeply personal, riotously funny response to her breast cancer experience.

Rather than dwell in fear, Hubby made a radical request: “Send boobs, not pity.” The resulting tidal wave of cheeky, loving, breast-themed offerings and artworks became a celebration of resilience, play, and the community that holds us up when we wobble. It culminated in a bold exhibition and an equally bold book, showing that humor can be a potent healing agent.

Forever BOOBS captures this spirit in perpetuity—confident, unbothered, and free. Part wink, part warrior.

Proceeds from this piece benefit organizations supporting breast cancer research and integrative healing. It’s not just about survival—it’s about reclaiming joy, owning your story, and yes, loving your boobs forever.

Forever BOOBS, the first in the series, is devoted to Thanks for the Mammaries, Hubby's humor-filled approach to her experience with breast cancer. The charitable beneficiaries support breast cancer research and alternative medicine.
